Project idea
The Science of Proper Care project is an innovative online learning system designed to prevent family dysfunction. It focuses on two main areas: training professionals in the field of child welfare and supporting parents, including prospective and current foster parents, guardians, and biological parents.
The project aims to enhance the qualifications of professionals and strengthen parental competencies to prevent family issues. This is accomplished by offering access to educational resources such as video lessons and the opportunity for consultations with experts. Professionals can receive a certificate of advanced training, while parents are awarded a certificate of participation.
The project includes the following activities and resources:
- Training courses for professionals. Courses cover a wide range of topics, from the psychology of orphanhood to the legal aspects of social protection. They will be presented in the format of video lessons with subsequent testing of knowledge and issuance of professional development documents.
- Parents support. Parents will have access to educational materials and will be able to participate in discussions and workshops through Zoom to get help and better understand and address parenting and childcare issues.
- Conferences and seminars. Both offline and online events are planned, including conferences for parents and professional workshops for specialists, facilitating the exchange of experiences and expanding the professional network of participants.
Relevance
The Science of Proper Care project plays a key role in social support for families and professionals in the Novosibirsk Region who face problems of family dysfunction. In a pandemic where traditional forms of training and support have become unavailable, the online format seems not just an alternative but a necessity.
Project support is important to people because it addresses pressing issues:
- Prevention of family dysfunction. Research shows that early prevention and support can significantly reduce the risks of negative family outcomes.
- Professional development of specialists. Training builds competence, which is important for quality work with families.
- Strengthening child-parent relationships. Proper parenting and childcare approaches can strengthen family bonds and prevent many problems.
The importance of the project to specific people in a specific area is due to the following factors:
- Social isolation. During the pandemic, many families became isolated, increasing the need for support and education.
- Heterogeneity of approaches. Different understandings of techniques and philosophies of working with children can lead to conflicts and misunderstandings between professionals and parents.
- Lack of resources. Not all professionals have the opportunity to attend face-to-face courses, especially in remote and sparsely populated regions.
Social effect
Preventing family dysfunction in the Novosibirsk Region through professional development of specialists and strengthening the competencies of parents.
