Project idea
The project is aimed at training specialists who work or plan to work in training apartments for people with disabilities.
The training will include modules on working with people with sensory impairments, accompaniment technologies, psychological challenges in independent living, and managing aggressive behavior. It will be conducted in a hybrid format: remote sessions with specialists and in-person supervisions with regional visits.
Approximately 28 specialists from 4 regions of Russia will participate in the project. Upon completing the training, they will be able to independently organize work in training apartments for people with disabilities.
An educational program will be developed for specialists, taking into account their educational needs.
Relevance
Qualified personnel, specifically trained tutors and managers, are an essential resource for the successful implementation of projects aimed at teaching social and daily living skills to young people with disabilities. However, such specialists are neither trained by higher education institutions nor prepared through professional development courses.
Often, mastering the experience of organizing training apartments and personal support for young adults with developmental disorders in their preparation for
independent living comes from colleagues and partners from other organizations and regions who have already gone through the challenging journey from the idea of creating a simulation apartment to bringing it to life.
The implementation of this project helps prepare specialists for training apartments and improve the qualifications of existing employees. Thus, nearly 30 people will acquire knowledge and tools for developing social and everyday skills in young people with multiple disabilities.
Social effect
Increasing the number of specialists capable of working in training apartments with people with special health needs in the four regions participating in the project.

Project Results
The project led to significant qualitative results. First and foremost, the professional level of specialists working in training apartments, as well as those preparing to open such facilities, has been improved. Thanks to the tailored training program, participants gained not only basic knowledge but also a deep understanding of working with individuals having sensory impairments and multiple developmental disabilities.
Particular attention was paid to practical skills, which helped participants learn to apply effective methods for managing aggressive behavior and develop individualized training programs for beneficiaries. In-person supervisions helped consolidate knowledge in practice and allowed specialists to improve their work by relying on the expertise of professionals.
Moreover, the interaction between specialists from different regions contributed to the formation of a community of professionals ready to share experiences and support each other in the future. The project had a positive impact on the quality of services provided in training apartments and helped create conditions for their successful operation in new regions.
Project progress after CSS funding
The financial stability of the project will be ensured through the placement of targeted fundraising campaigns on Russian crowdfunding platforms. It is often through online services for collecting private donations that funds are raised for educational projects.
To give the project social significance and attract the attention of potential donors, the fundraising web pages will feature success stories of educators who have prepared young people with disabilities for independent living.
