A tragic case occurred in Belgorod that exposed a huge social problem.

A tragic case occurred in Belgorod that exposed a huge social problem.

Volodya, 27, has high-functioning autism; despite the diagnosis, the young man successfully graduated from Belgorod University, where he studied mathematics and computer science. But for the past two years, he has been unable to find a job - employers reject him without explanation. As a result, Vova recently attempted suicide; fortunately, he is now well!

This situation shows that despite considerable efforts by the government and non-profit organizations to socialize children and youth with mental disabilities, a large part of society is still not ready for full interaction with adults with special needs.

Employers are not in a hurry to invite these people to work, nor are they ready to immerse themselves in the problems of illness in order to create the right conditions for comfortable and mutually beneficial cooperation. Meanwhile, the workplace can become a platform that finally unites different people and teaches them to respect each other's specificities.

Since 2019, the CSS Foundation has been supporting social initiatives that help children, teenagers and young adults find themselves, learn the skills necessary for a fulfilling life and become successful adults.

We are currently accepting applications for the "Stronger with CSS. Toward Independence," which focuses on integrating young people into society through the use of assistive technology. You can apply until noon on July 14 (Moscow time).

Let's unite the efforts of non-profit foundations, the state and business for a positive future for our children.
