How Chance works

The House invites young people from the Kaliningrad region who have experienced orphanhood and are left alone with their problems after reaching adulthood.

"When I turned 18, my guardians gave me 500 rubles (about $5), a ticket to Kaliningrad, and said I had to live alone."

"I left my foster family as soon as I came of age, because it was unbearable to live there".

These are the beginnings of the stories of several Chance House wards. The House invites young people from the Kaliningrad region who have experienced orphanhood and are left alone with their problems after reaching adulthood.

In the house they can consult with psychologists and lawyers, and discuss everyday problems. The guys who do not have their own homes can find shelter here.

The doors of Chance House have been open for 20 years!

In 2023, the project won the "Becoming Self-Sufficient" Competition and is now supported by CSS.

The Foundation's project manager Yura Vasiliev visited Chance House last week:

"You can immediately feel both comfort and support here. The project is run by very competent specialists who put respect for young people with experience of orphanhood at the center of their work. The fact that there are no signs on the building indicating the status of the wards says a lot. It is simply a home where people are always welcome".
