Summarized the results of one of the winning projects in our competition "Stronger with CSS. Acting together", "Equal opportunities" in Oryol

"In normal life you spend a lot of time with your son and your family, I couldn't just sit down and draw a picture, I couldn't go to the gym, let alone see a psychologist. I couldn't imagine that this project would cover all those things!"
This is how one of the participants of the project "Resource Center for Parents of Adolescents with Mental Disabilities as an Element of Comprehensive Social Support for Families" begins her feedback.
The project, which lasted for six months and ended in early summer, was aimed at parents who wanted to find their way through creativity, physical exercise and psychological courses in order to develop their personality and improve their parenting skills.
A total of 26 parents (24 families) from the city of Oryol participated in the project.
As a result, during the project, two women decided to continue their professional education and successfully completed the training and received a retraining diploma.
Another participant understood her dream and was able to realize it. She learned skills and began to lead art workshops for children and adults.
24 adolescents and young adults with intellectual disabilities were not neglected. They regularly participated in adaptive sports, creative work in an inclusive workshop, developed communication skills, and much more.
Intensive sessions, united by a common goal but taking into account the needs of both children and parents, have produced excellent results: bringing families together, revealing the strengths of children and parents, and inspiring personal development.
Empowered parents - happy families!
We are happy to be part of such an important project of our long-time partner - the Equal Opportunities Foundation.
